COVID-19 & Checking Work Authorization Documents For New Hire
In light of the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, the mandatory requirement that employers check work authorization documents of every hire in the physical presence of the employee within 3 days of the start of work has been deferred and employers may comply with the physical presence requirement using remote technology. The employer is required to conduct physical inspection of the original documents after normal operations resume. Please keep in mind this option is only available for employers who have instituted remote work arrangement.
